WATERBORNE TRANSPORT DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

Waterborne Transport Development Agency (WTDA) was established by Act No. 556 from 14 th December 2010 amending the Act No. 338/2000 on inland navigation.

According to this Act:

The Agency is managed by director who is responsible for its activity. Director is appointed and also removed by Minister of Transport, Construction and Regional Development. Agency is State Budgetary Organization of Ministry.

Agency

1. provides:
   • development and modernization inland waterways in accordance with approved transport policy,
   • preparation and implementation of construction and reconstruction of the waterways parts and other necessary structures for the operation of water transport on the inland waterways,
   • to cooperate elaboration of material analysis and financial demands to ensure the necessary equipment,
   • promotion of the inland waterway transport
2. elaborates documents, proposals and justifications for obtaining and efficient distribution of funds for investment in waterways
3. coordinates and ensures the repair, reconstruction and modernization of the waterway parts
4. implements pilot develop projects of intermodal transport axis
5. participates in the development and implementation of new technologies and operating systems on waterways
6. performs the above mentioned activities in interaction with relevant government bodies

The Agency is required before construction of waterways components and other necessary structures for the operation of water transport on waterways negotiate future contract administrator. Date of occupancy certificate issue passes free of charge to the administration building administrator.
